HOME runner Bruno Francisco won yesterday’s Jersey Spartan AC Autumn Half Marathon with over three minutes to spare.
A veteran runner, Spartan member Francisco was first to cross the line at the FB Fields in 1 hr 13 min and 41 sec, followed by last year’s winner, Commonwealth Games 1500m runner Elliott Dorey (1.16.48).
Phil Taylor, another Islander, came in third after another 53 seconds had lapsed.
First women home was Jessica Troy (in 17th place overall), in 1.29.49, followed by veteran Helen Hadjam (1.35.55 and 28th overall) and Chantelle Coote (1.36.31, 29th overall).
There were 248 finishers over the 13.1-mile course around the Island’s eastern parishes, starting and finishing from the FB Fields in St Clement.
