World Bowls: Greechan and De Sousa claim Mixed title

Sport | Published:

JERSEY's Chloë Greechan retained her WIBC mixed crown in dramatic fashion this morning – this time partnered not by her father Thomas, but fellow rising star Malcolm De Sousa.

The Jersey duo won on a tie-break at Grainville after sharing one-set each in the final.

De Sousa and Greechan came from 4-0 down in the first set, against Ireland's Andrew Kyle and Chloe Watson, to go 6-4 ahead, only to finish 8-7 behind.

It was a similar story in the second set as they went 3-0 down, but the Caesareans bounced back in style - drawing level with a 7-6 set victory before De Sousa played the match-winning shot in the one-end play-off.
