Now 68, Annie Quérée, who has raced 31 times previously in the inter-insular, will be stepping in to help an unusual novice crew combination.
One of the pioneers of women’s rowing in Jersey, and the holder the record in the solo class for 20 years, Annie will be at the helm of novice ladies quad 103, which is made up of two mothers rowing with their teenage daughters.
More than 50 crews are likely to take part in the event after weather forced it to be postponed last month
The race, now in its 47th year, starts from Dixcart Bay in Sark at 1 pm and the first boats are expected at Bonne Nuit Bay around two hours later.
