The home advantage could prove crucial in assisting Jersey in their bid to return to Division V. Not only would this mean higher quality matches, it would decrease the risk of them being eliminated should a WCL structure review suggest reducing the number of divisions available.
Jersey Cricket Board chief executive officer Chris Minty said: ‘The whole WCL scenario is being reviewed. There have been up to eight divisions but they might reduce this to six or seven so it’s very important that Jersey keeps going up the ladder.’
