McBey out for two months

The South African, who captained the Scots to the Jersey Football Combination Premiership title last year, has a fractured metatarsal in his left foot.

It’s a bitter blow for the all rounder as he has just completed a fine cricket season by gaining a first call up and winning the inter-insular against Guernsey earlier this month.

The 25-year-old, who represented Jersey at the International Football Tournament in June in Gibraltar, said: ‘I’m gutted; it could not have happened at a worse time with the football season getting into full swing.’
