The Grouville FC defender has a two-year teaching post at a British International School in Shanghai, a city he departs for in the middle of next month.

Northedge, a tireless and consistent performer for his club over the years, is leaving Les Quennevais School after eight years.

The 33-year-old, who won his only Muratti cap as substitute in a penalty shoot-out victory in 2007, said: ‘I’m sure there’s an exciting time ahead for me; I’ve always wanted to travel and teach so I’m following the dream I’ve always had.’
