CI young guns primed to fire

Both Channel Islands Football Asociations have brought development teams to the inaugural ICS tournament and despite temperatures in the high 20s, Jersey Football Association president Ricky Weir says manager Craig Culkin and his squad are only thinking about winning two games and collecting the trophy.

Weir said: ‘The Muratti is the past. It is not about revenge as they were two very different squads in May so we’re all looking at the future now and the development of this young squad.’

Gibraltar and the Isle of Man are the only other two teams in the tournament, the final of which will be played on Saturday evening.
