It was a storming ten-try victory for the Reds, made sweeter by their nearest rivals, Ealing, drawing 34-34 against Macclesfield, who Jersey next face at St Peter after the Easter break. Third in the league Fylde, who Jersey host on the last day of the season on 28 April, came from behind to secure a bonus point win over Birmingham Bees. So the table stands at Jersey – 105 points, Ealing – 99 points, Fylde – 97 points. So Jersey are six points clear with three games to go.
Jersey’s tries were scored by Guy Thompson, David Felton, Nick Trower (2), Dave McCormack, James Copsey (2), Donovan Sanders, Jethro Rawling and Glenn Bryce.
The only negative for Jersey was a red card for replacement scrum half Nicky Griffith for an alleged spear tackle.
