Although their seven-try 51-14 win over the Light Blues was matched by National I title rivals Ealing (nine tries in 56-15 win over Tynedale) and Fylde (seven tries in an excellent 44-24 win at fourth-placed Rosslyn Park), there are now just four sets of fixtures remaining, with Jersey maintaining their four-point advantage at the top.

By all accounts it was sunshine rugby from all of the top three, with it being no surprise that Ealing and Flyde cut loose in the firm conditions.

But while Jersey’s victory will also have been expected, the magnitude of it will have hurt both rivals, who will have been hoping for an adverse reaction to the end of Jersey’s long unbeaten record last time out two weeks ago.
