Racing near Hythe, on the edge of the New Forest, they were up against 27 other clubs with a total of 516 athletes competing in what is regarded as the strongest cross-country county in Britain.
There was medal success for both the girls’ and boys’ under-13 teams as they finished second and third overall, respectively, while the U17 men also took silver.
Individual silver medallists for Jersey, who did not field a senior team, were U17 Chloe Turmel and U20 Elliott Dorey, while U13 Jack Peggie clinched a bronze.
Coach Paul Raimbault was impressed by the results and said: ‘We are all really proud of the youngsters’ achievements. With three individual and team medals, and just for good measure an all-time club record of ten county team places, the Jersey junior squad showed how they have become a force to be reckoned with.’
