2015 the target

Sport | Published:

FUNDING concerns have been outlined as the main reason for Jersey basketball's withdrawal from the 2013 Island Games.

With the event taking place in Bermuda in 2013, the costs are significant and expected to hit the £2,000 per player mark.

As a result the Jersey Basketball Association have confirmed that they would not be represented at the next NatWest Island Games.

Rob Honey, outgoing JBBA president, said: 'We are not going to be sending a team. The primary reason is one based on the ongoing uncertainty of sponsorship and fund raising.'
