It should be an early Christmas present for the Island’s rugby fans who head for St Peter to watch this eagerly anticipated match-up between fourth and fifth place in the league.

Coventry, once such a colossal force in English rugby, continue their rise from the ashes and will no doubt hope to build on their success of last week.

They are one of an increasing number who have managed to penetrate the defence of league leaders Ealing and claim points off the top side who, in turn, claimed the scalp of Jersey early on in the season.

There are just two changes for the home side whose potent combination in attack and defence helped them secure a 24-15 bonus point victory away to Macclesfield last week. Lock Nathan Hannay is out as he serves the second of a two week ban for the red card he received against Cambridge last month. He is replaced by Kingsley Lang while Graham Bell has not recovered from the rib injury he sustained in last week’s game against Macclesfield.
