Jon Welsh has taken the managerial reigns from senior team coach Craig Culkin for this game and he is confident that, if his players perform, then they should claim their third consecutive victory in the series.
Welsh said: ‘It’s never easy going to Guernsey looking to win but I’m very pleased with the squad we have and we’ve had better preparation this time.
‘Last year we were only able to get two training sessions together as a squad but this time we have managed three so that is great.’
Welsh has seven under-18s in his squad and he does not see that as a problem. The former Island senior manager said: ‘Yes we’ve got a lot of youngsters but so, too, have Guernsey.
‘The Jersey squad has a good mix of experience and youth and I’m sure our players will blend well on the day. Jay Reid is playing in this fixture for the fifth time and, as I said before, we have good experience with Jay also having played at senior Muratti this year and at the Island Games in the Isle of Wight.’
