Nominated by: Sophia Cavey
A YEAR 6 teacher at St Saviour’s Primary School, who has worked there for over a decade, has been nominated for Teacher of the Year.
Laura Fowler’s nominator, Sophia Cavey, describes the teacher as “encouraging, always fair and very communicative with parents, no matter how big or small the issue is”.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs Fowler is passionate about driving curriculum development and creating enriching opportunities that benefit pupils across all year groups, according to her nominator.
Mrs Cavey added that it is clear that Mrs Fowler enjoys creating a school environment that broadens horizons and inspires a love of learning in children.
The mother afforded particular praise to Mrs Fowler for the way she had guided her son through two years of teaching, including his pivotal Year 6 experience.
Not only had Mrs Fowler played a fundamental role in supporting emotional wellbeing and building resilience, she said, but she had also served to create lasting memories that the children will carry with them long after those in their final year of primary school leave.
