As far back as 2008 there have been calls for a skatepark and skaters again lobbied for a new facility in 2018, when the New North Quay park was temporarily closed. The Les Quennevais facility is set to rival the standard of parks that are seen across Europe. It has been a long wait for the park for those involved in the sport, which has been popular in the Island for many years – as these pictures from the paper’s archives show.
