REPORTS of speeding vehicles in the west of the Island during the early hours of this morning are being investigated by the States police.

In an appeal for witnesses, the force stated that a number of reports were received between approximately 3.30am and 5am, “concerning vehicles being driven at speed in the areas of Les Quennevais, La Moye, Corbière, the Five Mile Road, Les Landes and L’Etacq”.

“Officers attended and carried out patrols of the area, but the vehicles were not located,” the statement added.

The force would like to hear from anyone who saw the vehicles or who may have
information that could help identify those involved.

In particular, police are asking residents and businesses in the areas to check any CCTV, video doorbell or other camera footage they may have from around 3.30am and 5.30am.

Anyone who may have any information is being asked to contact police on 612612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form at Crimestoppers-uk.org
