THE star of a St Helier shopfront display has been reported missing – leaving the store appealing for information on his wellbeing.

Shaun the Sheep, who formed part of Romerils’ Battle of Flowers Town Takeover display, was removed from his flock having sat in front of the shop all summer.

The Town Takeover was a competition funded by the Government of Jersey which saw St Helier shops decorate their shopfronts with floral, nature-inspired designs.

The Romerils in-house marketing team, led by marketing manager Carla Martini, created the Shaun-the-Sheep-inspired display for the event.

Ms Martini said: “We put a lot of love into creating Shaun, so funnily, it’s almost a compliment. Someone loved him enough to take him hope and we hope he’s brought them as much joy as he brought us.

“If anyone does know where he is, or if you want to send us a photo so we know he’s doing well, we’d love to hear from you.”

Ms Martini reported that despite a positive start to Shaun’s summer, his downfall began with both eyes being removed individually.

The Battle of Flowers Town Takeover has now come to an end after running from 13 July, and Romerils has two more Shaun installations which are “looking for a good home”. The shop has said that it is willing to part with the other Shauns in exchange for a donation to a local charity.

Romerils asks that whoever has Shaun reaches out, even just to know that he is doing well, through social media or contacting the store directly.
