THE 2026 Island Walk was a record-breaker both in terms of the 1,787 entrants who took part and the £160,000 raised for local charities.
The walk is one of Jersey’s largest one-day fundraising events and raises money for several local charities including Jersey Heart Support Group, Dementia Jersey, Jersey Child Care Support, Jersey Scouts and Wetwheels.
Jake Crichton, chair of the Island Walk Trust, said the walk has an “inclusive and community feel” that is the culmination of months of hard work.
He said that “90 to 95% ” of the walk’s volunteers return year-on-year – just like the 1,049 walkers who took on the challenge for at least the second time. Nearly 450 people volunteered manning checkpoints and keeping walkers safe, hydrated and fed.
Mr Crichton added: “Every walker, volunteer, sponsor and supporter has played a part in helping local charities continue their vital work.
“We are immensely grateful to everyone involved and particularly TMF Group for their ongoing support, which ensures that the maximum amount possible reaches local causes.”
TMF Group – a finance company based in Jersey – cover the event’s running costs, which means all funds raised go to the causes they were intended for.
Mr Crichton said this partnership was “vital” for the event, especially because of its length – from 3am to late at night.

Over the course of its 35-year history, an estimated £3.16 million has been raised by 34,800 walkers.
Mr Crichton said: “Reaching our 35th year is a remarkable milestone and a testament to the generosity and commitment of the Jersey community.”
