A CARE home has been ordered to pay almost £35,000 after it did not contest unfair dismissal claims from an employee of more than 12 years.

Residential carer Zaneta Suder had worked for LV Silversprings Ltd from 1 October 2023 to 2 March 2026.

The company owns Silver Springs in St Brelade, which offers both residential care and nursing care.

Silversprings initially denied the claim and in September offered a £34,943.68 settlement as long as Ms Suder agreed to end the dispute, the tribunal heard.

Representatives from the firm did not attend a case management meeting and then withdrew its response form – meaning the company stopped contesting the claims.

The Employment and Discrimination Tribunal made an compensation order for £30,702.79 as well as damages for unpaid bank holiday pay for £1,426.33 and unpaid holiday pay for £2,805.66 – totalling £34,934.68.
