THE bathing pool at Havre des Pas has bested its Sarnian equivalent once again by claiming a superior place on the AA’s ‘Lido League’.
The St Helier site came 12th on the ranking compiled by the roadside assistance provider, scoring 56.15 out of 100 – higher than La Vallette Bathing Pools in Guernsey (18th place).
Last year, the pools secured 18th and 29th place respectively.
The Havre des Pas Lido has claimed a number of accolades in recent years, including an appearance on a Times article in 2024 showcasing 14 of the UK’s “best saltwater and tidal pools”.
And it was cited in a book titled “Sea Pools: 66 saltwater sanctuaries from around the world”, by architect Chris Romer-Lee, a year earlier.
More recently, the site also made an appearance in the latest season of the new Bergerac.
The AA’s ‘Lido League’ ranking involved a study of 161 locations, taking into account a range of factors including Google search popularity, review scores, social media engagement, entry and parking costs, and local sunshine and temperature data for July.
