A NEW Chef de Police has been appointed in St John.
Andy Bisson will take on the role following the retirement of Jonathan Plunkett, who held the position for 15 years.
The Chef de Police is a senior honorary police officer appointed in each parish to lead to the honorary team.
In confirming the appointment, St John Constable Andy Jehan thanked Jonathan for his significant contribution to parish life and wished him well in his retirement.
He added: “We are excited about the appointment of Andy to the role as Chef, having already served the parish for four-and-a-half years as a centenier, Andy also brings a wealth of professional policing experience to the role, having served for 31 years in the States of Jersey Police where he rose to the rank of Police Inspector. I am delighted that Andy has agreed to take up the position.”
Mr Bisson said: “I have enjoyed giving back to our community, we have a group of excellent Officers in the honorary police and I look forward to our continued development as a team.
“I would also like to extend my thanks to Jonathan who has assisted me with support and advice throughout my transition”
