Repairs underway to storm-damaged slipway

REPAIR work is underway at the slipway next to the Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club in St Aubin following damage caused by storm conditions and high tides earlier this month.

The Infrastructure and Environment Department said the slipway had been closed last week, with the repair project delayed until the start of this week, after a period of spring tides had passed.

The department added that with lower neap tides now in place, it had been possible to access the damaged area, rebuild its foundation on the bedrock, and start restoring the slipway using the original stonework.
