A RARE single-digit number plate has been sold for £350,000 at auction.
There had been speculation that the J5 plate could fetch as much as half a million pounds but the hammer eventually fell £150,000 short of that mark today – still making it one of the most expensive registration marks sold in the Island.
The record a Jersey number plate has been auctioned for remains the £380,000 the Lieutenant Governor’s J4’s number plate fetched in 2020.
And earlier this year, the J69 plate sold for 230,000, setting a new record for a two digit number plate on the island.
