“ESSENTIAL” work on Pier Road car park has begun and is expected to last six months.

Redecoration work is taking place alongside repairs to damaged concrete and road surface cleaning, with fencing also being replaced.

The work is due to finish by the end of October.

The car park remains open to the public, with no more than two levels being closed at any one time. Shopper parking will also remain accessible on the first two levels.

Islanders are being advised by the Infrastructure Department that the treatment used on the road surface will have an odour but this “is not harmful”.

The public should also expect dust and noise barriers to be in place throughout the works.

Infrastructure thanked Islanders for their patience while work take place.
