A HIGH tide warning has been issued by Jersey Met – with waves expected to break over sea walls and cause disruption.

The wind combined with the 11.9 metre high tide at 8.12pm this evening and at 8.30am on Wednesday morning could also cause some flooding on the Island’s south coast, potentially leading to rush hour traffic disruption.

Jersey Met has issued the orange tide warning – the second highest warning – and has said that “some flooding may occur”.

Most of the water and debris will come over the walls within an hour either side of high tide.

Tides this morning reached 12.1m – some the highest that the Island can experience.

Coastguards have reminded Islanders to check tide times and the weather forecast if they are planning to walk around the coast.
