THE Reform Jersey leader is the preferred candidate to replace Deputy Kristina Moore as Chief Minister should a vote of no confidence succeed, according to a recent JEP poll.

With 21% of 2,585 votes counted, Deputy Sam Mézec came out on top – while runners-up were Deputy Lyndon Farnham, with 19%, and former Infrastructure Minister Tom Binet, who lodged the motion against Deputy Moore last week, with 18%.

Meanwhile, with 13% of the votes, “None of the above” garnered more support than Deputies Ian Gorst, Sir Philip Bailhache, Kirsten Morel, Philip Ozouf and Constable Simon Crowcroft.

States Members, not the public, will debate the no-confidence motion at the next sitting on 16 January.
