Former honorary police officer jailed for possessing thousands of indecent child images

AN 80-YEAR-OLD former honorary police officer who was found in possession of more than 4,000 indecent images of children has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison.

Peter John Windsor had pleaded guilty to seven charges of making indecent images of children and three charges of distribution earlier in the year, and was jailed following an appearance in the Royal Court this morning.

He was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for a minimum of five years, and given a restraining order.

Windsor was charged after police searched his home in July last year.

That search revealed a total of 4,601 indecent images of children – of which 480 had been distributed.
