HUNDREDS of Islanders have had their Easter travel plans disrupted after severe-gale-force winds caused flights and ferry services to be cancelled.

At least three flights and all ferry services – including tonight’s Commodore Clipper crossing to the UK – have been cancelled today.

The Condor Voyager service to St Malo on Saturday will also not go ahead. An extra sailing has instead been scheduled for Sunday.

The disruption has been caused by Storm Mathis – named by Météo France – which is moving across the English Channel.

Gusts of more than 60mph have been recorded in Jersey. Although several trees have been brought down, no significant damage has yet been reported.
