A LONG-AWAITED £20 unlimited bus pass for under-18s is due to be up and running next week, the government has announced.
The application process for the scheme started last month, and the government has since confirmed that it will come into force from next Monday.
The trial scheme, which gives young Islanders unlimited annual travel around Jersey, is a result of a successful amendment to the Government Plan brought by St Helier Reform Deputy Rob Ward at the end of last year.
Commenting on the announcement that the Avanchi18 card trial would begin next week, Deputy Ward said on social media: ‘At last. After three years of trying my work finally pays off with this facility. Culture change can start with the younger generation.’
The application form can be found on the LibertyBus website or at the bus station.
