In a recent union ballot, 82 per cent of LibertyBus staff who took part agreed to start strike action if an agreement could not be reached.
And 92 per cent of those balloted voted in favour of industrial action short of a strike.
The move means that should negotiations be unsuccessful, bus drivers, as well as technicians, mechanics and support staff, could launch industrial action.
Nick Corbel, regional representative for Unite the Union, said that staff were in the process of being balloted over whether to accept the current pay offer.
Mr Corbel said that the outcome of the pay ballot is due on Wednesday 9 November.
