Ports of Jersey – who are responsible for Rozel’s Brecque du Nord – have reassured Islanders, boat owners and business owners that there were no plans to restrict access to Rozel Pier, which sits beneath a hill that suffered a landslide in 2012.
In the incident one of the area’s chalet-style beach huts was shunted into the middle of the road when tonnes of earth slipped down from above.
Nobody was injured, but the event sparked a long-running legal battle between another hut owner and the company that owns the property and land above the beachside chalets – Ghyll Ltd.
