Swarms of revellers ate, drank, danced and shopped at the event, which was nearly scrapped last year, as temperatures topped 23°C.

The parish of St Helier, which took control of the event in 2015, asked for a £1 donation for everyone who entered, which went towards the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity.

Last year Empire Catering owner Mario Pirozzolo announced that he would not be running the festival after he failed to secure sponsorship for the event, which had made ‘substantial losses’, but following his decision, St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft wrote to the Bailiff’s office to ask permission for the parish, together with the Havre des Pas Improvement Group, to take over the organisation of the event.
