15,000 attend sell-out Moonlight Parade

The annual Battle of Flowers Moonlight Parade featured all 27 of the floral exhibits from Thursday’s afternoon’s Battle, transformed with thousands of colourful lights.

As darkness fell on Friday they went on parade for a second time, accompanied by a range of entertainers and bands. And after unsuccessfully trying something different last year, organisers brought back the popular fireworks finale, with a display that was bigger and better than ever before.

In addition, spectators were treated to an incredible aerial display performance from AeroSPARX – unique aerial gliders with wingtip pyrotechnics.

Now in its 27th year, the Moonlight Parade traditionally has more of a party atmosphere, and this year’s event was no different – with dancers, float builders and spectators alike all letting their hair down.
