Tessa Hartmann (46), who moved her family to Jersey a year and a half ago, is the founder and chairwoman of the Scottish Fashion Awards, which she set up in 2006.
Mrs Hartmann said the awards helped accelerate the fashion industry in Scotland, and wants to do the same for Jersey.
She said: ‘Creating something like the Jersey Style Awards is going to shine a light on the businesses that are here, the consumers and the retailers here.’
