The Health, Education and Infrastructure ministers, as well as the Chief Minister, all fielded questions from Reform Jersey members on Tuesday asking them to tell the Assembly whether cuts outlined in a document handed to the media were being considered.
The leaked papers suggested that more than 400 jobs could be axed in the public sector as part of £140 million of cuts, including 150 positions in the Health Department, 103 in Infrastructure, 36 in the Chief Minister’s Department and 40 in Education.
Details of the Medium Term Financial Plan, which sets States spending for the next three years, are due to be released on Thursday 30 June.
