Dog-fouling policy can only be enforced in certain areas

It was announced last week that Islanders would no longer be let off with a warning for not clearing up their dogs’ faeces or for dropping litter in Jersey and instead would face automatic fines of up to £500 if caught.

But it has since emerged that the States will be unable to enforce the new policies on land either leased to them or owned privately unless further legislation is passed extending their powers.
