Kate Williams, who lives at Manor Farm, St Peter, and is the partner of farmer Charles Quénault, is now looking forward to helping with the parish float, which she says has an Indian theme, and to being part of the whole event.
She decided to enter the competition partly because she is a big fan of the event and has been involved since the age of about seven but also because she wanted to be able to encourage other younger people to become interested.
Kate (26), the daughter of Chris and Sarah Williams, grew up in St Brelade and was educated at Mont Nicolle School and Jersey College for Girls before going on to qualify at Edinburgh University, and now back in Jersey, she works during the week for Jersey Village Vets as a farm vet and on Saturdays for All Pets Vet Centre, which is based at Manor Farm.
