In a statement this morning the parish announced that Clive Barton had stood down from the honorary job of Procureur du Bien Public for St Helier yesterday for ‘personal reasons’.
Constable Simon Crowcroft had been due to meet Attorney General Robert MacRae this morning to discuss the matter.
The Royal Court will now set a date for an election to be held to find a replacement.
