A proposition lodged by Deputy Montfort Tadier to provide free passes to all Islanders ‘below pensionable age with a disability which prevents them from being able to drive’ was accepted by the Council of Ministers and backed by all States Members.

Outlining his proposition, Deputy Tadier said that he thought it was good that a consensus had been reached on the matter after lodging a similar proposition during the budget debate, which failed.

The Deputy’s original proposition had been to provide free bus passes to all disabled Islanders, but he later lodged an amendment so that only those who cannot drive would receive the concession.
