Richard Downes, deputy medical director, and Dr Peter Southall, associate medical director, also wrote an open letter on behalf of the medical director and clinical directors in which they urged the States not to support the removal of the People’s Park option from the Health Department’s shortlist of four.
They took the unusual step of writing the letter in response to the proposition calling for the park to be removed from the shortlist, which was due to be debated in the States today.
However, before the debate was due to take place, Health Minister Andrew Green told Members that the Council of Ministers had accepted St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft’s proposition to remove the site from the shortlist of four sites.
