Police are still searching for 20-year-old Adrian Lynch, who has not been seen since 2 am on Saturday morning.
Officers from the States of Jersey Police, as well as members of Jersey Search and Rescue, the honorary police and the Ambulance and Fire services have spent the day searching the area around where he was last seen.
The Channel Islands Air Search plane has also been involved.
However he has still not been found.
In a statement this evening the States police said that because of darkness the search was being scaled down for the night but it would resume in the morning.
A ‘restricted capability’ search will continue into the evening.
Residents of St Lawrence, St Mary and St John are also being urged to check their property and land.
‘We have received much assistance from the public in terms of information and offers to help with searching and sincerely thank the public for this,’ the statement says.
‘Coordinated searching has however been carried out with personnel from across five agencies and this has already required significant management and coordination effort. We continue to urge residents of the central parishes (namely St Lawrence, St Mary and St John) to check their property and land for any indications as to where Adrian is or may have been.
‘The police are increasingly concerned as to Adrian’s safety and wellbeing and continue to seek information from the public as to Adrian’s movements and whereabouts.’
Mr Lynch had attended a work party at The Merton Hotel. He was dropped off by a taxi at Six Roads in St Lawrence, around a mile from his home, just after midnight on Saturday.
Police said it was not uncommon for him to be dropped off in the area after a night out and then make his way home from there.
His phone and wallet was found nearby and the last sighting was near to Bon Air Stables on Grande Route de St Laurent at around 2 am.
He had been drinking but was described as ‘talkative’ and steady on his feet.
Mr Lynch is described as slim to proportionate build, with short straight black hair and of Asian appearance. He is half Thai. When he was last seen he was wearing a light blue suit and a white shirt.
