Chef jailed for attacking clubber with belt and choking him

His victim later told police he thought he was going to die during the attack which was described by the Deputy Bailiff, William Bailhache, as ‘violent and vicious’.

The 41-year-old father-of-four pleaded guilty to grave and criminal assault following the incident at Havana Nightclub on 26 May.

Crown Advocate David Hopwood said the attack happened after the victim’s friend approached Rahman twice and using ‘robust language’ asked him to move away as he believed the defendant was staring at them.
