Ian Gorst of Canada – a family man who loves ice hockey and posting pictures of inappropriately large sausages – has seen increased interest in his Twitter profile since his Jersey namesake joined the social networking website.
So much so that, having researched why he was receiving the sudden interest from a tiny island thousands of miles away, he has changed his profile to read: ‘Future Chief Minister of Jersey, Channel Islands… At least they won’t have to change the name on the door’.
Just a single character separates the two men’s profiles on the site, with Senator Gorst known as @Ian_Gorst and his Canadian equivalent @iangorst.
The Chief Minister (the real one) has also made sure to describe his profile as ‘official tweets from Jersey’s Chief Minister’.
