The 23-year-old has announced his intention to stand in the St Helier No 2 by-election for a Deputy due to take place early this year.
The by-election follows the disqualification from the States of St Helier No 2 Deputy Shona Pitman and her husband Trevor, who held a seat in St Helier No 1, after they were declared bankrupt on Friday.
The Royal Court has not yet formally ordered the two by-elections, so the polling date is not known.
