Claire Lee, who is believed to be in her 30s, had been attending a fitness camp with a group of other Guernsey residents but was independently sandboarding – an activity similar to snowboarding – on sand dunes when the accident happened.
The cause of death is not yet known, although Namibian newspaper Allgemeine Zeitung reported that it was believed Mrs Lee had fallen and suffered internal injuries.
