The announcement comes after months of unrest and threats of industrial action across the public sector.
In the States today, Senator Ian Gorst announced that the pay four per cent award – the final part of a three-year deal – would be made at the start of 2014 after employees agreed to a series of reforms to the way they work.
The move follows concerns expressed by regional Unite spokesman Nick Corbel that the four per cent pay rise was going to be reduced, or even withdrawn.
