First you had the biggest bakery in the islands throw in the towel because they can’t compete with imported cheap bread even though that bread has the additional cost of being imported from the UK.

Then we had the Channel Islands’ biggest lift-on lift-off freight carrier cease trading because of the financial difficulties they face.

Most of all these two separate but linked incidents, show how vulnerable the Island is because of that small stretch of water.
