The controversial deal between Economic Development and the makers of the Knights of Impossingworth – Canbedone Productions – hit the headlines earlier this year when it emerged that the cash had been handed over despite there being little or no proof that the film would ever be made.

Filming has still not started and after the Public Accounts Committee, the States’ spending watchdog that held an inquiry into the matter, criticised Economic Development’s judgment in making the pre-production grant and the financial rules of the States that allowed it to happen, the Treasury has now launched its own review of the process.
