Unite, the union representing many of the drivers, said that 89 per cent of its members balloted last week voted in favour of taking industrial action over ‘excessive’ shifts and the ‘unfair dismissal’ of two drivers.
It has accused LibertyBus, which runs Jersey’s bus service, and its management of taking a ‘hardline’ stance.
However the company says that only 51 out of its 154 workers, or just one-third of staff, voted to strike.
