Technicians are currently working to restore full operations at the headquarters of Nats, the national air traffic control body, in Swanwick, Southampton, and the number of aircraft flying and taking off in the south of England have been restricted.

The disruption has affected flights into and out of Jersey with a number experiencing delays, according to Airport officials.

However, the Channel Islands controls its own airspace and air traffic control in the islands has not been affected by the computer problems, nor have inter-island flights.

All passengers are advised to check in as normal.
